CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Converse golf team sits in ninth place after round one of the Wingate Challenge at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation on Sunday.

Marley Felthousen leads the Valkyries after an opening round 80.  Felthousen picked up three birdies in her round to finish tied for 14th.  Felthousen played the Par 5s under par with one under score.

Alex Bruce, Ansley Vaughan, and Allie McCain shot 83, 84, and 85 respectively to round out the scoring.  Bruce and McCain played the Par 3s with a score of 3.25 both playing +1.  Bruce finished with 10 pars on her round.

Converse finished with a team score of 332.  Queens leads the field with a score of 316 one stroke better than Lincoln Memorial at 317.

The Valkyries wrap up the tournament on Monday with the final round of the Wingate Challenge.
