SPARTANBURG, S.C.- In their second game in as many days, the Converse lacrosse team had to fight through tired legs against Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference loss, 12-7, on Friday evening.

Converse (3-5) saw Chelsea Worrell (Orlando, Fla.) net the program's all-time leading goal late in the first half on her way to her fourth straight hat-trick.  Four other Valkyries posted a goal in the loss.

Alderson Broaddus (3-2) found the back of the net three times in the first nine minutes of action scoring off three Valkyrie turnovers.

Elizabeth Gabriele (Simpsonville, S.C.) netted the first goal for Converse less than thirty seconds later on a free position goal.  Midway through the first half Aubrie Lauderdale (Greenville, S.C.) scored to cut the deficit down to 3-2.

Less than two minutes later, Converse saw the deficit grow to 5-2.  Chelsea Worrell scored the goal she needed for the all-time record with three seconds remaining in the half on a free position goal.  It was career goal number 107.

The Valkyries started off the second half hot scoring less than 90 seconds into the half.  Aubrie Lauderdale found Kasey Halodik (Waxhaw, N.C.) for the goal to bring the score to a 5-4 ABU lead.

Alderson Broaddus responded with six goals to push out in front 11-4.

Chelsea Worrell scored two goals with one off the dish from Maria Knott (Ball Ground, Ga.).  Brittni Jones (Lees Summitt, Mo.) rounded out the scoring for Converse as ABU capped off the 12-7 victory.

Jennifer Barksdale (Clinton, S.C.) and Lauderdale had six ground balls each.  Sandra Ponce (Germantown, Md.) had her hands full in cage as she racked up 17 saves off 29 Battlers' shots.

Converse returns to the field on Monday, March 14 against Young Harris in a non-conference contest.  First draw is at 5:30pm.
