SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Converse Tennis team dropped the Conference Carolinas opener to Erskine 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The Valkyries fell to 3-4 on the season and 0-1 in league play while Erskine improves to 6-2 and 5-0 on the season.
Converse battled with the Flying Fleet in doubles falling 8-3, 8-1, and 8-2 respectively. Margaret Pridmore (Wodonga, Austraila) and Kaitlin Knight (Sumter, S.C.) played at the ones position.
Margaret Pridmore was able to bounce back from a 6-0 first set defeat to pick up three games in the second set before falling 6-3. Caroline Bertling (Greer, S.C.) picked up two games during her match while, Alex Schlesener (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and Klaire Rouse (Gilbert, Ariz.) picked up one game apiece.
The Valkyries travel to Franklin Springs, Ga. to face Conference Carolinas foe Emmanuel on Thursday, March 4.
