COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Valkyries tennis team was tripped up by Benedict, 6-3, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. Converse drops to 1-2 on the season, while Benedict moves to 1-2.
Klaire Rouse (Gilbert, Ariz.) picked up another singles victory to move to 3-0 on the season with a straight set victory in the sixth slot. Taylor Littlejohn-Barr (York, S.C.) picked up the other singles victory for the Valkyries winning 6-3, 6-2 in the fifth flight.
Rouse and Littlejohn-Barr moved to 3-0 in doubles action with an 8-2 victory in the third flight. The duo of Margaret Pridmore (Wodonga, Austraila) and Kaitlin Knight (Sumter, S.C.) battled to an 8-7 defeat falling 10-8 in the tie breaker.
Converse will return home on Friday, February 12 against Livingstone in a non-conference match. Service is at 2pm.
