SPARTANBURG, S.C.- In a rain shortened match against Emmanuel College on Thursday afternoon, the Valkyries picked up the Conference Carolinas win 5-0 after the Lions defaulted on three matches.

Converse (3-9, 2-4) picked up both doubles victories that secured the match for the 5-0 win.

Kaitlin Knight and Margaret Pridmore took the victory at the No. 1 doubles slot 8-3.  Alex Schlesener and Samantha Sheffield dominated in the No. 2 clip grabbing the 8-0 win.

Emmanuel defaulted at the No. 3 doubles along with No. 5 and No. 6 singles to give the Valkyries a 5-0 advantage heading into singles play.

Before singles competition could begin, the rain started to come into the area.  After a temporary delay, the match was called.

Converse returns to the courts Thursday, April 9 hosting King at 3pm.
