Box Score BELMONT, N.C.- Nothing went right for the Valkyries Lacrosse team as Belmont Abbey shutout Converse 20-0 in the Conference Carolinas regular season finale on Saturday afternoon. Converse drops to 9-8 on the season and 3-5 in league play. The Crusaders improve to 10-6 and 5-3 in conference play.
Converse dug themselves a major hole in the first half seeing the score inflate to 10-0 after the first thirty minutes of action. Belmont Abbey led 6-0 with just over 18 minutes remaining in the half. The Valkyries kept the Crusaders off the board for 12 minutes before BAC scored four goals in the final five minutes of the half to take a 10-0 lead.
The Valkyries registered three shots in the match all on goal. Chelsea Worrell, Brittni Jones and Aubrie Lauderdale registered a shot on goal apiece. BAC outshot the Valkyries 30-3.
Converse will enter the Conference Carolinas Lacrosse Championships on Tuesday as the #7 seed and will face third seeded Pfeiffer. Converse lost to Pfeiffer back in early February 15-2.
