SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Converse Tennis returns to their winning ways with a 9-0 sweep over Conference Carolinas foe Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon. The win marks their fifth in the past six matches. Converse improves to 6-10 on the season and 5-5 in conference play.
Converse started off the match sweeping the doubles competition. Alex Schlesener and Samantha Sheffield picked up the first doubles win of the match in the No. 2 clip, 8-3. Margaret Pridmore and Kaitlin Knight pulled out the win at the No. 1 doubles slot to sweep the doubles competition winning 9-8 (6-2).
Klaire Rouse clinched the match for the Valkyries at the No. 5 singles slot winning 6-3, 6-0. Margaret Pridmore and Kaitlin Knight put their opponents away quickly winning 6-1, 6-0.
Samantha Sheffield won in the No. 4 singles taking the match 6-1, 6-4. Alex Schlesener gave the Valkyries the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win.
Converse wraps up the regular season heading to Tigerville, S.C. as the Valkyries face North Greenville on Friday, April 17. First serve is at 2pm.
