SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Converse Tennis used a team effort to defeat Columbia (S.C.), 8-1, in non-conference tennis action on Saturday afternoon. The Valkyries picked up their second win of the season, while Columbia falls to 3-7 on the season.
Kaitlin Knight and Margaret Pridmore started the scoring for the Valkyries winning the No. 1 doubles 8-2. Taylor Littlejohn-Barr and Mary Kaitlyn Flynn stormed back from down 7-5 at the No. 3 doubles to force a tiebreak and win 9-8 (7-4).
Converse hosts Conference Carolinas foe Emmanuel (Ga.) Thursday April 2 at 3 pm.
