BELMONT, N.C. – The Valkyries Tennis team took on the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College, defeating the Crusaders, 7-2. The Valkyries are now 4-13 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Crusaders are now 1-13 overall and 0-5 in league play.
Converse won four out of the six singles matches this afternoon. Bringing home wins for Converse were Claudia Gunn, Klaire Rouse,Samantha Sheffield, and Tanashia Thomas.
The Valkyries swept in doubles this afternoon. Teammates Marisa Esformes and Claudia Gunn won 8-6. They are now 5-11 as a doubles team. Samantha Sheffield and Kelsey Rembert won their match 8-1, as a pair they are now 3-12, while pair Klaire Rouse andTanashia Thomas brought home a win as well. They are now 3-9 in doubles competition.
The Valkyries will travel to North Greenville University April, 5th to take on the Crusaders at 12:00 PM
