JEFFERSON CITY, T.N. – The Valkyries tennis team traveled to Carson-Newman on Sunday to take on the Eagles at the Carson-Newman Tennis Complex. The Valkyries are fighting hard looking for a midseason victory but wouldn't find it today as they dropped to the Eagles 7-2. The Valkyries are now 2-8 overall while Carson-Newman is 7-4.
Senior Marisa Esformes went two for two today in winning in singles and doubles. Esformes singles match was one for the books as she took down Patricia Guerreiro 7-5, 6-3. Pairing up with teammateClaudia Gunn they would take down Stefy Stand and Breanne Tremblay 8-5.
The Valkyries are hungry for a win as they travel to Due West, March 11th to take on Erskine College. The match will begin at 3:00 PM.
