BANNER ELK, NC- The Valkyries took five of six in singles competition Friday, defeating the Bobcats of Lees-McRae, 6-3.

Converse went two of three in doubles competition, dropping a pair of close 8-6 matches at #1 and #3 doubles. Marisa Esformes and Samantha Sheffield earn their seventh win of the season and improve to 4-6 in conference play.

Determined to pick up their third conference win of the season, the Valkyries battled back in singles play. Olivia Self moved back to .500 in conference play with her third straight win at #1, while Kasey Anderson routed her first win of the season at #2. The purple and gold would take the next three of four with Esformes earning the day's only extra set win at #4.

Converse returns home Sunday in regional action, playing host to the Trojans of Anderson University. The teams take the court at 2pm.
