SPARTANBURG,SC- The Limestone Saints moved back to .500 on the year, defeating the Valkyries at home Friday by a final score of 1-8. Senior Olivia Self picked up her second straight individual win, third in two matches, at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
Marisa Esformes and Samantha Sheffield lost a tough match at #2 doubles, 9-7, as the Saints won in straight sets to get out to an early 0-3 lead. Self's victory would prove to be the purple and gold's only win of the afternoon as Limestone went on to claim the final five sets of the match.
The Valkyries return in regional action next Friday, March 8th at Tusculum College for a mid-season two-game road trip.
