WILSON,NC- The Barton Bulldogs picked up their fourth straight win of the season, defeating the Valkyries 1-6. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 5-2 overall, 2-0 in conference, while the purple and gold drop their second straight on the road and fall to 0-4 overall, 0-2 in conference.
Following a stoppage of play in singles #1 and #2, Barton would go on to win the final four tilts of singles competition in straight sets. Senior Olivia Self and freshman Kasey Anderson put Converse on the board with an 8-6 win at #1 doubles over BC senior Lindsey Frederick and sophomore Alicia Lasry. The Valkyries would drop the final two matches, 8-1.
The Valkyries return home next Friday looking for their first win of the season against the Flying Fleet of Erskine College. The first serve is scheduled for 3:00pm.
