COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – Earlier this week the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced their weekly winners and honorable mention selections for Player of the Week. Converse University sophomore
Autumn Kern (Lusby, Md.) was named Honorable Mention Defensive Player of the Week.
Kern anchored a back line last week that pitched a pair of shutouts against Coker and Wingate. In total, Kern and the backline allowed just five total shots and one shot on goal. The sophomore midfielder played in all but eight minutes of the two contests last week.
The last time Converse had a player named an NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week was in November of 2022.
