Bomar Makes Converse History at Indoor National Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Junior sprinter and 2026 Conference Carolinas Co-Track Athlete of the Year Dorian Bomar made Converse University history by racing in the preliminary rounds of the 2026 NCAA Indoor National Championships, the first male student-athlete in school history to do so.

Bomar, a junior from Spartanburg, tied his season and career best time in the 60-meter dash by running a time of 6.70 seconds in heat one of Friday's preliminary rounds.

Coming down to the thousandth of a second, Bomar's official time of 6.694 trailed West Texas A&M senior Isaac Botsio's time of 6.691 by just 0.003 seconds for the final spot in tomorrow's national championship race.
