Valkyries Reach Highest Indoor National Ranking in Program History

NEW ORLEANS – With two national top-ten performances and four inside the top 20, the Converse University men's track and field team are ranked No. 31 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) indoor rankings.

Junior Dorian Bomar leads the way for the Valkyries with both of the team's top-ten performances, running a 6.70 in the 60 meters and a 21.40 in the 200 meters, ranking him seventh and ninth respectively.

Sophomore Xavier Dixon and senior Devron Davis also rank inside the top 20 in the 200 meters with times of 21.44 and 21.54 in 11th and 16th respectively. Dixon recorded a time of 6.78 in the 60 meters.

Rounding out the Valkyries nationally-ranked performances is freshman Neale Johnson with a 7.13 meter mark in the long jump, ranking him 34th nationally in the event.

After nearly a month and a half off of the track, the Valkyries are back in action this weekend, Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31, in Louisville, Kentucky for the Lenny Lyles Invitational.
