SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – The Converse University men's swim team went 1-1 this past weekend with a 130.0-93.0 win over King on Saturday and a 129.0-114.0 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday night.

Lenoir-Rhyne Meet Notes:

• The Valkyries A team of Jay Owens, Tyler Leal, Alexander Kuznetsov and Keith Rogers finished second in the 200 medley relay event. The Valkyries B team of Alxander Nichols, Jaxon Tschikof, Davis Dial and Chris Olcott finished fourth, while the Valkyries C team of Kir Lyzhin, Manny Schlichtmann, Luigi Ballivian and Henry Winstead finished fifth in the event.
• Henry Stockton finished second in the 500 free event with a time of 4:49.24, Micah Lesley finished fourth with a time of 5:03.25 and Henry Winstead finished fifth with a time of 5:24.21.
• Daniel Merzthal finished second in the 100 free event with a time of 48.96 seconds, Joey Lilley finished third with a time of 49.02 seconds and Olcott finished fifth with a time of 51.60 seconds.
• Mason reed won the 200 yard butterfly event with a time of 2:03.27, Kuznetsov finished third with a time of 2:04.44 and Dial finished fourth with a time of 2:11.18. Ballivian and Coleman Smith finished in fifth and sixth place in the event.
• Tyler Leal won the 50 breast event with a time of 27.52 seconds, Louis Milczynski finished second with a time of 27.92 seconds. Gavin Gordy, Tschikof and Schlichtmann placed sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
• Owens finished third in the 200 back event with a time of 2:02.03, Nichols finished fourth and Lyzhin finished fifth.
• Stockton won the 200 free event with a time of 1:47.50, Reed finished fourth and Rogers finished fifth in the event. Milczynski and Kuznetsov finished second and third in the 50 yard butterfly event.
• Leal won his second event of the day with a first place finish in the 200 yard breast event with a time of 2:17.07. Gordy finished second with a time of 2:20.39, followed by Olcott in fifth place, Tschikof in seventh and Schlichtmann in eighth place.
• Merzthal and Rogers finished in second and third place in the 50 yard free event. Lilley finished second in the 50 yard back event with a time of 24.81 seconds. Lesley finished fifth overall and Lyzhin finished sixth in the event.
• Owens finished second in the 200 IM event with a time of 2:04.78, Dial finished third with a time of 2:09.98, Ballivian finished fourth overall and Winstead placed fifth in the event.
• In the 400 relay event, the Valkyries A team of Milczynski, Reed, Lilley and Lesley finished second with a time of 3:15.59. The Converse B team of Nichols, Stockton, Gordy and Merzthal finished third with a time of 3:18.21.  

King Meet Notes:

• The 200 medley relay team of Nichols, Leal, Kuznetsov and Stockton finished second with a time of 1:36.78. The Valkyries B team of Lesley, Gordy, Smith and Ballivian placed third and the Valkyries C team of Lyzhin, Schlichtmann, Tschikof and Winstead finished fourth in the event.
• In the 500 free event, Reed placed second with a time of 4:52.67, Owens finished third with a time of 4:57.48 and Dial placed fifth with a time of 5:08.72.
• Kuznetsov and Leal tied for second in the 50 fly event with a time of 23.96 seconds. Smith placed fifth overall with a time of 25.83 seconds.
• Milczynski won the 100 breast event with a time of 59.84 seconds, Olcott, Gordy, Tschikof and Schlichtmann finished within seconds of each other at fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh.
• Stockton finished second in the 100 free event with a season best time of 47.30 seconds. Merzthal finished third overall, followed Lesley and Rogers.
• Lilley won the 50 back event with a time of 24.23 seconds, Owens finished second with a time of 24.82 seconds and Lyzhin finished fourth with a time of 28.06 seconds.
• Owens finished second in the 100 IM event with a time of 55.03 seconds and Nichols finished third with a time of 56.76 seconds. Ballivian, Winstead and Tshikof finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the event.
• The Valkyries swept the podium in the 100 fly event, Leal won the event with a time of 52.57 seconds, Kuznetsov finished second with a time of 52.87 seconds and Reed finished third with a time of 54.81 seconds.
• The Valkyries also swept the podium in the 50 free event, Rogers won with a time of 21.94 seconds, Stockton finished second with a time of 22.22 second and Merzthal finished third with a time of 22.32 seconds.
• Lilley finished second in the 100 back event with a time of 52.81 seconds. Lesley placed third overall with a personal best time of 54.84 seconds and Dial finished fifth.
• Milczynski won the 50 breast event with a time of 27.31 seconds, Olcott finished second with a time of 28.41 seconds, Gordy placed fourth and Schlichtmann placed sixth in the event.
• In the 200 free relay the Valkyries A team of Milczynski, Lilley, Merzthal and Rogers finished second with a time of 1:25.76. The Valkyries B team of Nichols, Reed, Olcott and Dial placed third, while the Valkyries C team of Winstead, Smith, Lyzhin and Ballivian finished fourth overall.

The men's swim team will be back in action next Sunday afternoon for their senior day meet against Columbia College.
