SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Coming off the best season in program history, Converse University head tennis coach
James Smith announced the addition of
Mathis Blary comes to the Valkyries after spending his freshman season at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He is originally from Feucherolles, France.
Jackson Fischer joins the Valkyries after spending his freshman season with Division-III Transylvania University. He was named the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Fischer was 5-0 in HCAC singles play and 5-0 in HCAC No. 1 doubles play.
Patrick Flood joins the Valkyries from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was a member of the Mount Eliza/Frankston Tennis Club.
James Hardy comes to Converse from Perth, Western Australia, Australia. A graduate of Applecross Senior High School, Hardy served as a team captain for the tennis program. He was twice selected as the team's Player of the Year and was selected to the school nationals team, earning both honors in 2023 and 2024. He helped lead his team to the Pizzey Cup State Championship in 2024.
Harrison Hart-Buck joins the Valkyries from across the pond in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, United Kingdom. A product of the Warwick School, Hart-Buck served as a school tennis captain and was undefeated in regular school fixtures since 2022. He earned his half-colours tie in 2022 and his full-colours tie in 2024 for tennis. He was the Magdalen College winner in 2022 and the Eton Youll Shield Winner in 2023. He helped the Warwick tennis team to regional championships and national finalist appearances in 2022 and 2024. Off the court, Hart-Buck was a member of the Warwick Boat Club, helping them to a 2023 national regional league runner-up finish.
