Wylie Named Head Women’s Soccer Coach

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University Deputy Director of Athletics Randy Loggins announced the hiring of Colin Wiley as the new head coach of the women's soccer team.

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Wylie as the new head coach of our women's soccer program," Loggins said. "His passion, experience, and commitment to developing student-athletes make him an outstanding fit for our team. We believe he will build on our strong foundation and lead the program to new heights. We are excited for the future of women's soccer at Converse University under his leadership."

"I am very excited to be the next head coach of the Converse University women's soccer program," said Wylie. "I'd like to thank Athletic Director Jenn Bell, Deputy Athletic Director Randy Loggins and President Dr. Boone Hopkins for the opportunity to join the Valkyries family. I would like to thank everyone who was on the interview search committee as I had a great experience through the interview process, and I know great things will come at Converse. I am really excited to get started with the team to build on the great work they put in last season in conference."

Over the past four seasons, Wylie has been assistant coach and head coach of the development team at Catawba College. Over that time span, Wylie has helped the Catawba Indians to an impressive 64-9-12 record and four trips to the NCAA Tournament. With Wylie on staff, Catawba won the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships, and they hosted a trio of NCAA Regionals over that time span.

Prior to his four-year stint at Catawba, Wylie spent one season (2020-2021) as the assistant women's soccer coach at Nova Southeastern University. Before heading to the Sunshine State, Wylie was an assistant coach at Francis Marion University during the 2019 season. Wylie helped guide the Patriots to an overall record of 8-8-1, setting the program's best single season mark in 11 years.

Wylie also served as an assistant coach of the men's soccer program at his alma mater, Ottawa University from 2015-2017 while earning his master's degree. After graduating, he also served as an assistant coach with Kaw Valley FC, a Sporting Kansas City developmental partner and USL League 2 organization in 2018. Wyle was also an assistant coach with the Neosho County Community College women's soccer program in Chanute, Kan.

Wylie earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Ottawa University in 2010, and a master's degree in education in 2017. He holds a USSF National C Coaching License, an NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 3 Diploma, and an NSCAA National Diploma.
