Six Valkyries Honored With Academic All-District Distinction

GREENWOOD, Ind. – With the 2025 soccer season in the books, six members of the Converse University women's soccer team were honored as CSC Academic All-District selections for their accomplishments both in the classroom and on the pitch: junior McKenzie Bundy, junior Malaya Fuller, senior Skylar Lund, senior Savannah Mellon and sophomore Sam Quillen.

Six honorees is the most an institution can have in one season. Lund and Mellon advanced to the Academic All-America round of voting which is set to be released on Dec. 17.

Bundy, a junior business administration major from Lancaster, South Carolina, appeared in all 20 games for the Valkyries and made 17 starts. She scored a hat trick in the Valkyries home opener against Allen on Sept. 6 and assisted on a goal in the team's victory over Shorter on Oct. 18. Bundy logged 1,478 minutes on the pitch.

Fuller, a junior business administration major from Ajax, Ontario, Canada, appeared in 18 games and made seven starts. She assisted on a goal in the team's Oct. 18 victory over Shorter and recorded 575 minutes on the pitch.

Lund, a senior biology major from Parkland, Florida, had her best statistical season in 2025. She was a second team all-conference selection this season, the first of her career. She has scored nine goals and two assists through Wednesday's opening-round victory over North Greenville. She was second on the team in scoring with 20 points, coming from nine goals and two assists. Her nine goals are more than double her total from her previous three seasons combined. Lund ranked fifth in Conference Carolinas in goals scored this season and was tied for seventh in total points.

Mellon, a senior psychology major from York, South Carolina, started all 20 games for the Valkyries, anchoring the backline and helping the Valkyries to seven shutouts. She logged 1,683 minutes on the pitch this season.

Novik, a senior psychology major from Parkland, Florida, made an immediate impact after transferring to Converse. She appeared in all 20 games and started 15 of them, logging 1,303 minutes on the pitch. She scored her first career goal on Sept. 20 against Southern Wesleyan and added two more by year's end. She also recorded three assists, giving her the fourth-highest points total on the team.

Quillen, a sophomore biochemistry major from Fountain Inn, South Carolina, appeared in all 20 games and made 19 starts, logging 1,706 minutes on the pitch. She scored three goals this season including two in the team's Oct. 18 victory against Shorter.
