GREENVILLE, S.C. - After a historic season that saw the Converse University men's tennis team (12-5, 7-2 Conference Carolinas) win a program-record nine consecutive matches and 11 of their final 12 matches, sophomore Manuel Roncero has been tabbed as a third team all-conference selection.

Roncero, a sophomore from Valencia, Spain, anchored the Valkyries' single lineup this season, playing 14 of the team's 17 matches at No. 1 singles. He posted a 7-7 record on the highest court. The Spanish double major won three consecutive conference matches at the position against Emmanuel, Chowan and then-No.-40 Barton from March 18-22.

Roncero competed in just three doubles matches this season, winning a nonconference match with fellow sophomore Ben Hyde-Smith against Wingate back in the fall.

Next Up For Converse:
With the men's tennis team's record-breaking success this season, they have earned the No. 2 seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship in Sumter. The Valkyries await the winner of No. 3 Francis Marion and No. 6/7 Emmanuel/Young Harris on Saturday, April 26 at 1 P.M.
