Laureen Roussel Wins The 100 Breaststroke on Day Three of Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships

KINGSPORT, TENN. .- On day three of the Conference Carolinas Swimming and Diving Championships the Converse Women hold tight to their third-place finish. The women tallied 299 total points, while the men's team tallied 183 points on Friday evening. 

 Roussel and the relay team highlighted the day for the women's team with a first and second-place finish respectively and Merzthal and the relay team highlighted the day for the men's team with sixth-place finishes. 

The women's team continued their success in the 400 Medley Relay. The team of Bryne, Roussel, Young, and J. Beebe claimed the final podium of the night with a second-place finish in the event. Individually, Laureen Roussel had a first-place podium finish in the 100 Breast, Milly Bryne had two podium finishes with 6th place in the 400 IM and in the 100 Back, Julia Beebe had another podium finish with 5th place in the 200 Free,  Katie Beebe had a podium finish with 6th place in the 200 Free, and Ansley Young had a podium finish with 6th place in the 100 Fly.

On the men's side, the 200 Free Relay team consisting of Lyzhin, Schlichtmann, Lesley, and Winstead finished with a sixth-place podium finish. Individually, Daniel Merzthal had his first podium finish with 6th place in the 100 Breast.

Men's Notes:

• In the 400 IM finals B, Kirill Lyzhin finished with a time of 4:32.70. 

• In the 100 Fly finals B, Landon Duffie finished with a time of 54.26. 

• In the 200 Free finals B, Keith Rogers finished with a time of 1:47.31. 

• In the 100 Breast finals A, Daniel Merzthal finished 6th.

• In the 400 Medley Relay, the team consisting of Lyzhin, Manny Schlichtmann, Henry Winstead, and Micah Lesley finished 6th with a time of 3:49.69.

Women's Notes:

• In the 400 IM finals A, Milly Bryne and Katie Mullen finished 6th and 7th respectively.

• In the 100 Fly finals A, Ansley Young finished 6th, and in finals B, Noelle Yorgason finished with a time of 1:02.51. 

• In the 200 Free finals A, Julia Beebe and Katie Beebe finished 5th and 6th respectively and in finals B Marie Durflinger finished with a time of 2:14.69. 

• In the 100 Breast finals A, Laureen Roussel finished first, and in finals B, Ember Hill finished with a time of 1:09.39.

• In the 100 Back finals A, Bryne finished 6th. 

• In the 400 Medley Relay, the team consisting of Bryne, Roussel, Young, and J. Beebe finished 2nd with a time of 3:56.42.

Day four of the Conference Carolinas Championships will start at 10:00 a.m. with the women's 200 Yard Back event.
