Men’s Tennis Prepares For Cobras and Fire Ants

The Teams:
Converse (1-1) vs USC Sumter (3-2) and Coker (0-2)
Series: Converse leads USC Sumter 2-0, Coker leads Converse 1-0
Last Meeting: Converse defeated USC Sumter 5-1, Coker defeated Converse 4-3

Converse Notes:

Converse last competed in an exhibition against Division I Wofford College on Feb. 9. The Terriers took the match 4-0. The last Division II opponent was Mars Hills who were defeated easily 6-1 by the Valkyries.
Sophomore Stanley Waters took the first set at No. 1 singles against Wofford's No. 1 6-3.
Junior Leopold Morel and sophomore Marty Letessier kicked off the afternoon against the Lions with a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles. Waters and freshman Ben Hyde-Smith secured the double's point with a 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles.
The Valkyries took No. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles as they cruised to their first victory of the spring season.

Coker Notes:

The Cobras are 0-3 on the season and most recently lost the Francis Marion Patriots 4-3. They dropped their other two matches, including a road matchup to No. 13 Lander, 7-0.
Coker took No. 1 doubles against Francis Marion but fell at the other two courts.
The Cobras also took No. 2, 5 and 6 singles from the Patriots.

USC Sumter Notes:

The Fire Ants enter the matchup 3-2 on the season. They picked up their two most recent wins on the same day against the Belmont Abbey JV team and Johnson C. Smith University. The Crusaders fell 5-2 and the Golden Bulls fell 7-0.
