SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's tennis team will start their second collegiate season against No. 21 Anderson University this Saturday afternoon.
 
In the teams only meeting last season the Trojans defeated the Valkyries 7-0 and won every match in straight sets. However, the Valkyries will look to build off the success they saw during the fall portion of their schedule.
 
Converse Notes:

• Converse went 1-0 during the fall portion of their season with a 4-3 win over Mars Hill in October.
• Bellet, Morel, Gregoire Legrand and Enzo Marcheschi all picked up singles wins in the Valkyries match against Mars Hill in the fall.
• Sophomore Merlin Bellet (Agde, France) earned Conference Carolina Player of the Week honors for the fourth time in his career during the fall semester. The sophomore picked up the honor after he defeated his Mars Hill opponent in straight sets at the No. 1 singles court.
• Converse has been selected to finish seventh in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll. Bellet and Leopold Morel were both selected to the Conference Carolinas preseason watch list.

 
Anderson Notes:

• Anderson finished the fall season with a 3-0 overall record and a 2-0 record against Conference Carolinas schools.
• The Trojans have yet to drop a court all season as they defeated USC Sumter 7-0, Emmanuel 4-0, and North Greenville 7-0.
• Anderson is currently ranked No. 21 Nationally by the ITA and was picked to finish second in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason polls. Juan Sengariz is currently ranked No. 40 nationally and No. 7 regionally in singles this season.
• Sengariz made the First Team Preseason All-Conference list and teammates Greyson Doscotch, Philip Olsson and Julian Kenzlers all earned Third Team Preseason honors.
