GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas league office announced
Sergi Quixal of Converse University's men's soccer team as the Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.
The award comes as no surprise as Quixal leads the national in total assists with six on the year.
The graduate student defender from Vinaros, Spain racked up eight shots, six shots on goal, four assists, two goals and eight points over two games. In the Valkyries' game over Southern Wesleyan on September 21, Quixal was responsible for four assists during the teams' big 6-0 win. On September 24, Quixal reeled in the award when he scored two of Converse's three goals during their win over Belmont Abbey.
Converse men's soccer will be back in action tonight as they take on North Greenville at Weisiger Stadium at 5:00 p.m.
