GENEVA, N.Y. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) unveiled their annual All-American list for the 2022 season, Converse University forward
Lotte Kanters (Loosdrecht, Netherlands) earned First Team honors, while
Catalina Pistaccio (Buenos Aires, Argentina) earned Second Team honors.
For both Kanters and Pistaccio, this is their second All-American accolade of the week after being named to the synapsesports.com All-America teams. Converse is the only team in the South Atlantic Conference to have players named to the NFHCA All-America teams. Although Kanters was not named Offensive Player of the Year, she still became the second player in program history to be named a First Team All-American by the NFHCA. Kanters joins
Mira Polzer as the only consensus First Team All-Americans in program history.
Kanters is the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and led the nation in points per game (3.58), goals per game (1.47) and finished tied for second in assists per game (0.63). Kanters finished the season with 28 goals, 12 assists, 68 points, 120 shots, 71 shots on goal and 7 game-winning goals. For Kanters this is her second All-America accolade.
Pistaccio not to be overshadowed by Kanters, earned Second Team All-America honors after another standout season on the field for the Valkyries. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament MVP finished with 15 goals, 10 assists, 40 points, 93 shots, 58 shots on goal and 6 game-winning goals. For Pistaccio this is her second All-America accolade.
