SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University head field hockey coach
Valerie Clarke has announced the signing of Carina Ramirez (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) for the upcoming Field Hockey season.
"I am so excited for our first ever mid-season transfer in Carina to join us this Spring," Clarke said. "Carina will bring valuable experience at the Division I level as she played nearly every minute for New Haven this fall. She will bring in leadership and strong hockey IQ to our young program, and I know she will fit in perfectly with our FHAMILY!"
Played three seasons at New Haven appearing in 46 career games and making 18 starts. Finished her Charger career with one assist, one point, 12 total shots and six shots on goal. The Empire State native played a total of 1,393 minutes at New Haven.
During her prep career, Ramirez played four years of field hockey and was the captain for the Chiefs of Massapequa High School. Ramirez also ran track for three seasons for the Chiefs. While in high school, Ramirez was named All-League, All-Country twice, All-State and All-Long Island Second Team honors.
