MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Converse was able to get on the scoreboard first, but the Pfeiffer Falcons netted two goals late to take the match 2-1 in Conference Carolinas play on the road on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Half

• The match started off quickly as Pfeiffer recorded a shot just a minute into the match, but was saved by Josee Waitrovich.
• Alex Marquez would put the first shot on target for the Valkyries in the 12' but was deflected out of play for a Converse corner.
• Both teams played in the midfield for most of the first half until Mariah Elliott recorded back-to-back shots on target but were both saved by the Pfeiffer keeper.
• Pfeiffer had two chances late in the first half but went high and wide.

2nd Half

• Converse came out with the attack in the second half seeing the Cassidy Marshall shot hit off the crossbar.
• In the 58' Riley Hartnett takes the goal kick and sends the ball up the field to Mariah Elliott.  Elliott would play the ball from the right wing across to the middle of the box to find the streaking Nicole Doolittle.  Doolittle would find the back of the net in the far post for the 1-0 advantage.
• It was Doolittle's seventh goal of the season and Elliott's fifth assist of the season.
• In the 77th minute, Pfeiffer was able to push their attack forward and finding the equalizer from the middle of the box.
• Pfeiffer would get a corner in the 84' and find the go-ahead score as the first attempt deflects off a Valkyrie defender and found the back of the net.
• Nicole Doolittle took aim at her second goal of the match in the 87' but the Falcon keeper kept it out.
• Alex Marquez found the rebound with under three minutes to play but a great diving stop by the Falcon keeper kept it a 2-1 Pfeiffer advantage.

Converse returns home for the start of a three match homestand to end the regular season as the Valkyries take on Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas showdown on Saturday, October 22.  Kick-off is at 1pm.
