Men’s Soccer Awaits Lees-McRae for Purple Reign Night

The Valkyries enter fresh off of opening Conference Carolinas play with a 2-1 victory over King on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Three Valkyries, sophomore forwards Jacob Bandel and Levi Bankirer and senior forward Kade Smith, have each scored two goals this season. Bankirer scored the game-winning goal against King.
Freshman goalkeeper Thiago Ausland has started all four games in goal with a .625 save percentage. He has a 2-0-1 record.
Including the previously mentioned Valkyries, six different Valkyries have scored a goal this season.

Lees-McRae Notes:

The Bobcats enter the contest fresh off of a 1-0 victory over fellow divisional opponent Belmont Abbey. They also have nonconference wins over Chowan and Virginia State.
All six of Lees-McRae's goals this season have been scored by a different player. Three of those players have also assisted on a goal.
Senior goalkeeper Jonathan Kienle has played all three games in goal for the Bobcats. He allowed just two goals against Chowan and recorded a shutout in the team's other two games.
Lees-McRae was selected seventh in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll.
