Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – With just under 90 seconds remaining in Saturday's contest, sophomore forward Levi Bankirer netted the go-ahead goal to push the Converse University men's soccer team (2-1-1, 1-0 Conference Carolinas) past the King University Tornado (0-4, 0-1 Conference Carolinas) 2-1 at Parks Field on the campus of King University.

Freshman Thiago Ausland earned his fourth start in as many games and played all 90 minutes for the second time this season. He recorded two saves.

Freshman forward Peder Winge got the scoring started late in the first half with his first career goal. Fellow freshman midfielder Cesa Ramirez-Pulido earned his first career assist on the goal. Converse took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

King evened the game with a goal of their own with just under 11 minutes remaining in the second half.

With the Valkyries in control of the ball in the final two minutes, Bankirer netted the go-ahead goal with 84 seconds remaining.

Neither team attempted a shot the rest of the way, and Converse held on to win 2-1.

The Valkyries return home on Tuesday, Sept. 8, as they host the Lees-McRae College Bobcats for Purple Reign Night. Kickoff is set for 7 P.M. at Weisiger Stadium.
