GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced the annual preseason coaches poll on Thursday afternoon, Converse is slated to finish fifth in this years poll.
Converse was picked to finish fifth with 174 total points, finishing just ahead of Shorter, Mount Olive, Southern Wesleyan, Lees-McRae and Belmont Abbey. King, Barton, Young Harris, Erskine, Chowan and Ferrum finished 11
th-16
th respectively in the polls. Emmanuel won the poll with 216 total points and 10 first place votes, Francis Marion finished second on the team with 215 total points and six first place votes. Finishing just ahead of Converse was UNC Pembroke and North Greenville.
The Converse volleyball team is coming off their best conference season in program history. Last season, the Valkyries finished the year with a 21-8 overall record and a 16-4 Conference record. Converse captured their second straight Northwest Division Championship in the process.
Alysha Arroyo,
Ariel Bryant and
Alayah Robertson have all been named Conference Carolinas Players to Watch for the upcoming season. In 2024 Bryant was named to both the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team and the All-Conference Third Team. Arroyo was a second team All-Conference selection a season ago and a 2024 All-tournament selection. Robertson was named to the All-Conference second team after leading the team in blocks.
