SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics
Jenn Bell announced the hiring of Jacob Bostic as the new head volleyball coach.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jacob to Converse University," Bell said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion, and we are confident he will build on the successful foundation of our program, while continuing to develop our student-athletes on and off the court. We look forward to the next chapter of our program under his leadership."
"I am incredibly grateful and honored for the opportunity to begin my first college coaching position at Converse University," Bostic said. "I want to sincerely thank the administration and leadership at Converse for trusting me with this program and believing in the vision for its future.
Converse has a strong tradition and a special community, and I'm excited to get to work with our student-athletes both on and off the court. My goal is to build a culture of hard work, accountability, and pride in representing Converse University.
Year one is just the beginning. I'm excited about what we can accomplish together and the future we will build for this program. I look forward to developing our players, competing at a high level, and making the Converse community proud. I'm truly thankful for this opportunity and can't wait to get started."
Bostic is no stranger to the Upstate of South Carolina having served as a head volleyball coach at the Stars Carolinas Volleyball Club over the past four years. Bostic has experience coaching both on men's and women's volleyball staffs for teams ranging from 14U-18U.
Last February, Bostic was also the head varsity girls volleyball coach at Gaffney High School and was named the 2025 PSR Coach of the Year. Prior to his time at Gaffney, Bostic was the head coach at Mauldin High School (2023-2024) and led the team to a region championship in his first season.
Prior to his prep school coaching career, Bostic was a volunteer assistant coach at both Limestone University (November 2022 – May 2023) and Erskine College (February 2022 – May 2022). While at both institutions, Bostic helped with practice planning, film breakdown, statistics and in-state recruiting efforts.
Bostic is inheriting a volleyball program that has won 20-plus games in each of their last two seasons. The 2024 volleyball team won the Conference Carolinas Northwest Division Championship, the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship, and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The 2025 volleyball team is coming off their second Northwest Division Championship and they were the No. 2 overall seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament this season.
