GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their weekly swim awards on Wednesday morning, Converse University freshman swimmer Maya Guevara was named Female Swimmer of the Week for her efforts in the pool this past week.
 
Converse defeated Emmanuel 135.5-126.5 on Saturday afternoon. Guevara picked up a total of four wins on Saturday, the freshman finished with two individual wins and a pair of relay victories to help the Valkyries. Individually, Guevara won the 50 yard butterfly event with a personal best time of 26.39 seconds. The freshman then won the 100 yard butterfly event with a time of 58.32 seconds.
 
As a member of the 200 yard free relay team, Guevara swam leadoff and helped the team to a first place finish (1:38.39). In the 200 medley relay, Guevara helped the team to their second relay victory of the day with a time of 1:50.98.
 
Guevara and the rest of the Converse swim team will be back in action this weekend with meets at King and Lenoir-Rhyne.
