KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following the program's second-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II national tournament, the Converse men's soccer team made its first-ever appearance in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll, coming in at 25th in the organization's preseason poll.

The 2024 Valkyries finished the season with a 9-1-9 record. They posted a 6-0-6 record in Conference Carolinas action, the second time in program history the Valkyries went undefeated in conference play. Converse earned the No. 2 seed in the 2024 Conference Carolinas Championship, beginning their run in the semifinals.

Head Coach Rob Miller earned his third career Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year Award and his second at the helm of the Valkyries last season. Said Miller about his fifth-year program, "It's exciting for a program to be recognized at the national level in such an early stage."

The Valkyries, seeded fifth in Super-Region 2, ended the 2024 campaign by hosting fourth-seeded Clayton State in a second-round game at Weisiger Stadium.

Converse is the only Conference Carolinas school to appear in the poll. The Peach Belt Conference and the South Atlantic Conference, the other two conferences in the southeast region, each have one representative. Clayton State checks in at No. 5, representing the Peach Belt, while Coker checks in at No. 9, representing the SAC. Flagler, Francis Marion and Mars Hill all received votes in the poll but did not crack the top 25.

The 2025 Valkyries kick off the season on Thursday, Sept. 4, as they host the Anderson Trojans at Fulp Field. The game is set to begin at 7 P.M. More details can be found at GoValkyries.com/sports/mens-soccer.
