Cross Country Takes Swing At Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Taking part in the annual Louisville Classic race weekend the Converse University cross country teams competed in the college blue division, two of 17 races held at the event over its two days.

Freshman Evie De Roos finished first for the women, her third time doing so in as many races. Sophomore Alex Porter had his second team-top-finisher performance of the season.

Women's Notes:

De Roos finished first for the Valkyries with a time of 24:05.1.
Junior Paisley Stepp finished next with a time of 25:97.9.
Freshman Ines Pierrefitte finished next with a time of 25:14.9.
Junior Mackenzie Crandell finished the race next in a time of 27:30.2.
Sophomore Hailey Jones and freshman Angelica Panchelyuga finished within two places of each with times of 28:30.7 and 28:45.3.

Men's Notes:

Porter anchored the team, finishing first among the Valkyries with a time of 26:16.5.
Senior Jaxon Wright and freshman Benjamin Notarangelo finished two places apart. Wright finished with a time of 27:39.8 and Notarangelo finished with a time of 27:40.5
Senior Zackery Carver finished next with a time of 27:57.4.
Junior Hunter Heron finished with a time of 29:14.8.
Freshman James Hook finished six places later with a time of 29:24.8.
Sophomore Reece Evans rounded out the Valkyries performance with a time of 30:51.8.

Next Up:
The Valkyries are back in action at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday, Oct. 10. The race is scheduled for 5 P.M.
