Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries kickoff their home slate against the Hawks after winning their regional matchup at Anderson 2-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
- The Valkyries and Hawks did not meet during the 2023 regular season but last played in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Championship Match. A deadlocked battle through regulation and two overtime periods, the Hawks took the title by winning the penalty shootout 3-0.
- Junior Guilherme Fontes leads the Valkyries in scoring with six points, all coming from three goals. Senior Hayden Gensler is second on the team with five points, coming off of one goal and three assists.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Mateo Sanchez remains the only Valkyrie to step into the box this season. Sanchez has allowed just one goal in the team's last two games.
Chowan Notes:
- The Hawks enter Saturday's contest after defeating Virginia State 4-1 on Tuesday, Spet. 10. Chowan opened the season by drawing with Lees-McRae 0-0 in a nonconference match.
- Chowan was picked as the favorites in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll.
- Senior Junior Smith leads the team in scoring as he netted one goal and assisted on one goal against Virginia State.
- After being ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches southeast region preseason poll, the Hawks narrowly remained in the poll at No. 10.
