SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Coaches have unveiled their annual Preseason Poll and All-Conference selections.
 
Two-time All-American Catalina Pistaccio (Buenos Aires, Argentina) was named to the SAC Preseason First Team for the third consecutive season. Pistaccio led the Valkyries in goals (11), assists (8), points (30), total shots (66), and shots on goal (34) last season.
 
The Valkyries field hockey team has been picked to finish fifth in this years poll with 33 total points. Converse finished ahead of Belmont Abbey, Wingate, Lincoln Memorial and Coker. Mount Olive won the poll with 62 total points and six first place votes, Newberry was slated second with 49 points, Limestone was picked third with 48 total points and one first place vote, and Lander rounded out the top four with 46 points and two first place votes.
