Valkyries Battle Saints to the end.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team won the acro event before losing 250.46-259.32 to Limestone on Friday inside Weisinger Center.

Event 1 – Compulsory

Converse started the meet posting scores of 9.30, 9.90, 9.45, and 8.25 in the compulsory Acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. The Valkyries go into the next event down 36.9-37.0 to the Saints

Event 2 – Acro

Converse scored 8.70, 7.85, 9.20 finishing with an event total of 26.75 securing the event win over Limestone 26.75-26.70. The Valkyries head into the third event 62.65-63.70 to the Saints.

Event 3 – Pyramid

The Valkyries scored the highest in heat three with a 9.85. In heats one and two the Valkyries scored 9.70 and 9.65.  With these theses scores the Valkyries go into the toss event down 91.85-93.20.

Event 4 – Toss

The Valkyries scored 8.55, 7.90, and 8.65 ending the event 25.1-26.1. The Valkyries head into the tumbling 116.95-119.30.

Event 5 – Tumbling

The Valkyries scored 8.85, 7.85, and 7.80 in the duo, trio, and quad pass respectively. Ayanna Manning's aerial pass, Ceanna Brown's 6 Element pass, and Krissa Gaines' Open pass had scores of 9.45, 9.10, and 9.55 respectively, helping Converse to end the event with a total score of 52.6 compared to Limestone's 53.3. The Valkyries head into the team event 169.55-172.60.

Event 6 – Team

With a start value of 103.57, Limestone scored 86.72 to end the meet with an overall score of 259.32. Converse started their team event with a 102.01 start value, the Valkyries scored a total of 80.91 points to end the meet with an overall score of 250.46.
