SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team won every event to win their first home meet of the season.
Event 1 – Compulsory
Converse started strong, posting scores of 9.1, 9.55, 9.35, and 7.35 in the compulsory Acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. The Valkyries go into the next event 35.35-32.35 on the Lions.
Event 2 – Acro
Converse maintains their lead in the second event, scoring higher than Emmanuel in two of the heats to tie 25.65 with the Lions in the event total. The Valkyries' captured the 61-58 lead going into the third event.
Event 3 – Pyramid
The Valkyries maintain their lead in heats one and two of the Pyramid event with scores of 9.55 and 9.6.. In heat three both teams finished with a score of 9.9. With these theses scores the Valkryies go into the toss event up 90.05-86.45.
Event 4 – Toss
The Valkyries scored 9.05, 8.05, and 8.40. The Valkyries head into the tumbling up 115.55-111.30.
Event 5 – Tumbling
The Valkyries shined in the tumbling event, outscoring the Lions 52.20-48.85. Ayanna Manning's aerial pass, Ceanna Brown's 6 Element pass and Krissa Gaines' Open pass had scores of 9.7, 9.175, and 9.225, respectively, to help Converse to a 52.2-48.85 event win.
Event 6 – Team
With a start value of 100.18 Emmanuel scored 88.53 to end the meet with an overall score of 248.68. Converse started their team event with a 102.12 start value, the Valkyries scored a total of 91.320 points to end the meet with an overall score of 259.07.
