GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the second time this season, Converse senior defender Gabriel Verona has been named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week. Verona also earned the award on Oct. 15.

The Santa Catarina, Brazil native played all 180 minutes of both team games last week. He also accounted for the Valkyries' goal with a penalty kick in the 1-1 senior-day draw with Lees-McRae.

The Valkyries are back in action in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Championship on Friday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 P.M.
