Men’s Soccer Set to Host NCAA Tournament Game For First-Ever Time Against Clayton State

Converse Notes:

The Valkyries enter the matchup on a three-game draw streak, including their most recent draw to Super-Region II eight seed Francis Marion in the Conference Carolinas Semifinals.
Converse had five all-conference selections following the 2024 season. Head coach Rob Miller was named the Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year for the second time in his four years at Converse.
The Valkyries earned their second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and their first at-large bid.
Sunday will see Converse University host its first-ever NCAA Tournament game in any sport.

Clayton State Notes:

Clayton State earned the top seed in the Peach Belt Tournament and hosted the semifinals and championship. Despite being the top seed and hosting, the Lakers fell 2-1 to Flagler in the championship.
With the Saints taking the Peach Belt's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the Lakers earned an at-large bid to the tournament with the fourth seed.
Sophomore midfielder Alex Rodriguez was named the Peach Belt's Offensive Player of the Year while head coach Pete Petersen was named the PBC Coach of the Year.
The Lakers have posted six shutouts this season, all coming as solo shutouts from senior goalkeeper Mauricio Uribe.
