GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their monthly Freshman of the Month Award on Friday morning, Converse University athlete
Madison Cook (McLeansville, N.C.) was named Women's Golf Freshman of the Month.
Cook made her first two collegiate starts for the Valkyries this month at both the Anderson-Erskine Kickoff and the King University Invitational. The freshman helped the Valkyries to a 10
th place finish in her first collegiate tournament and runner-up finish at the King Invitational.
Individually, Cook finished 80
th at the Anderson-Erskine Kickoff with a score of 259. At the King Invitational, Cook finished 39
th overall with a two round score of 173.
The Converse University golf team will be back in action this coming week at the Barton College Women's Fall Invitational. The two day event will start on Monday at the Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.
