GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their monthly freshman of the month awards on Friday morning, Converse University freshman attackman Hailey Obenchain (Newburg, Ind.) has won the third and final installment for the 2023 lacrosse season.
 
In the month of April, Obenchain helped the Valkyries secure a spot in the Conference Carolinas Tournament for the first time since the 2019 season. Obenchain scored 13 goals, assisted on 20 goals and tallied 33 total points in the month of April. The freshman also recorded 12 ground balls, won 19 draw controls and forced four caused turnovers. Obenchain earned Freshman of the Year honors from the Conference office and was also a second team all-conference selection.
