SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse acrobatics and tumbling team took home a senior day victory as they defeated the Mars Hill Lions 251.535-243.220 inside the Weisiger Center on Saturday afternoon. The victory moves the Valkyries to 4-3 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas action while the Lions fall to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Conference Carolinas standings.
Event 1 – Compulsory
Converse started off rocky, only posting a 6.20/10 in the compulsory acro heat compared to Mars Hill's 9.00/10. This would help the Lions to take an event one victory 34.50-32.95.
Event 2 – Acro
The Valkyries had a highlight score of 9.45/10 in the 7-element acro heat. This would help the Valkyries get back on track, but the Lions still picked up the event win 25.40-21.85.
Event 3 – Pyramid
Converse scored the highest score in the synchronized pyramid heat, posting a 9.70/10 in the heat. They also scored a 9.00/10 in the inversion pyramid heat to pick up their first event win of the day 24.55-23.05.
Event 4 – Toss
The Valkyries started to shine in the second half, scoring a 26.80 in the event compared to Mars Hill's 24.90. This allowed Converse to be less than two points behind the Lions going into tumbling.
Event 5 – Tumbling
Krissa Gaines posted a 9.5/9.9 in her aerial tumbling pass to help the Valkyries capture the 52.075-47.550 event win.
Ceanna Brown also had an impressive 9.475/10 score in her open tumbling pass.
Event 6 – Team
The Valkyries put out their best team event, scoring a 93.31/102.06. This is their highest team event score of the season. The Lions finished the day with an 87.82/100.42 in their team event.

Converse will travel to Emmanuel College on April 6 for their last regular season meet.
