GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their first edition of weekly awards for the 2023-24 men's basketball season on Monday, Converse University guards
Uzziah Dawkins (Spartanburg, S.C.) and C.J. Jamison (Greer, S.C.) swept the awards.
Dawkins earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance on the court this past weekend against Mars Hill and Wingate. Dawkins averaged 23 points per game, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per contest. The senior guard shot 59 percent from the field and 57 percent from three-point range. Dawkins 29-point effort against Wingate was the second most in a single game in program history.
Jamison earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance on the court this past weekend against Mars Hill and Wingate. Jamison averaged 16.0 points per game, and led the team in rebounds per game (8.0) and steals per game (3.0). The graduate transfer guard shot 67 percent from the field and led the team with 18 points in the season opening win against Mars Hill.
Dawkins and Jamison will be back in action with the rest of the men's basketball team this coming Wednesday night against Newberry. Tip-off is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Newberry, S.C.
