GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office released the 2022 Men's Cross Country preseason poll and the league's head coaches chose the Converse men to finish eighth in their second season of program history.
Emmanuel was chosen to finish first with 11 first place votes and 143 points. UNC Pembroke tallied 133 points with one first place vote while Mount Olive was picked to finish third with 108 points and one first place vote.
North Greenville and Lees-McRae tied with 104 points apiece followed by Belmont Abbey (84) and Erskine (79).
Behind Converse's 65 points and eighth place predicted finish is King (59), Barton (45), Southern Wesleyan (41), Francis Marion (31) and Chowan (18).
The league office also announced their 2022 Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Runners to Watch, naming
Nathan Lucy,
Luis Rios Brena and
Jaxon Wright to their list.
The men will begin their season at their home course with the USC Upstate Eye Opener on Friday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m.
