SPARTANBURG, S.C. – This past weekend the Converse University League of Legends team competed in the College League of Legends Championships and made it all the way to the semifinals of the tournament.
On Friday evening, the Valkyries defeated Michigan State 2-0 in the quarterfinals round to advance to the semifinals. On Saturday evening, Converse took a 1-0 lead over Bay State College in the semifinals round. Bay State won the next three matches to advance to the championship and end the Valkyries season.
Although the Valkyries did not come back to the Hub City with a trophy, they did not come back empty handed. The team earned $15,000 for reaching the semifinals round of the event. This will conclude the League of Legends season for the 2021-2022 academic year.
