Track and Field Stays Local with Hub City Invite Meet

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's and women's track and field programs will compete in town at the Hub City Invite hosted by Newberry College on Friday, April 8.

Women's Team Notes:

This will be the fourth outdoor meet of the season for the women.
Last weekend at the Gotta Run Invite, the women's team saw four podium finishes with Bayley Robinson placing 3^rd in the 800-meter run, Daeja Belton and Phoebe Myers placing 2^nd and 3^rd, respectively, in the 100-meter hurdles, and Eseose Okoduwa placing 3^rd in the 200-meter dash.
The following athletes are ranked in Conference Carolinas action:
- Eseose Okoduwa – 11^th, 100-meter dash and 10^th, 200-meter dash and 7^th, long jump
- Quiana Suber – 11^th, 200-meter dash and 10^th, 400-meter dash
- Krishayla Boyd – 13^th, 200-meter dash and 12^th, 400-meter dash
- Bayley Robinson – 16^th, 400-meter dash and 2^nd, 800-meter run
- Ashley Sosa – 10^th, 1500-meter run and 6^th, 5000-meter run and 5^th, 10000-meter run
- Carson Towe – 9^th, 5000-meter run
- Piper Grant – 13^th, 5000-meter run and 7^th, 10000-meter run
- Jetta Turner – 14^th, 5000-meter run
- Daeja Belton – 2^nd, 100-meter hurdles
- Phoebe Myers – 3^rd, 100-meter hurdles
- Libby Harvey – 6^th, 3000-meter steeplechase
- Janiya Pickney – 7^th, high jump
- Mackenzie Whiteside – 5^th, triple jump
- Nashayla Warren – 8^th, triple jump
The women's team will be competing in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 1500-meter run, 100-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, high jump, triple jump, discus, and hammer throw.
Athletes to watch on the women's side are Myers, Boyd, Robinson, Sosa, and Belton.

Men's Team Notes:

This will also be the fourth meet of the season for the men's team.
In the Gotta Run Invite, Gerrard Donald had two podium finishes with his 2^nd place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.
The following athletes are ranked in Conference Carolinas standings:
- Gerrard Donald – T3^rd, 100-meter dash and 9^th, 200-meter dash
- Gavin McFadden – T3^rd, 100-meter dash and 11^th, 200-meter dash
- DreQuan Guyton – 13^th, 800-meter run
- Jay Mitchell – 3^rd, high jump
- Jamieryon Yeargin – 7^th, 110-meter hurdles
The men's team will be competing in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 1500-meter run, 5000-meter run, 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, high jump, pole vault, and javelin.
Athletes to watch on the men's side are Ryan Glenn, Donald, McFadden, and Guyton.
