SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's and women's track and field programs will compete in Anderson University's Electric City Invitational on Saturday, April 16 after having an outstanding meet last weekend at the Hub City Invite.
 
Women's Team Notes:

• At the Hub City Invite, the women's team had two first place finishes in Daeja Belton and Mackenzie Whiteside. Belton placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.69 seconds. Whiteside won the triple jump event with a mark of 10.69 meters.
• The following athletes are ranked in the current Conference Carolinas standings:
  • Eseose Okoduwa is ranked 10^th, 11^th, and 8^th, respectively, in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and long jump.
  • Quiana Suber and Krishayla Boyd are also ranked 12^th and 14^th in the 200-meter dash.
  • Suber, Boyd, and Bayley Robinson are 11^th, 12^th, and 16^th in the 400-meter dash, and Robinson is 2^nd in the 800-meter run.
  • In the 1500-meter run, Ashley Sosa is 10^th, Robinson is 11^th, and Carson Towe is 22^nd.
  • Sosa and Towe are also ranked in the 5000-meter run at 6^th and 9^th followed by Piper Grant at 13^th and Jetta Turner at 14^th.
  • Continuing, Sosa is 5^th in the 10000-meter run along with Grant who is 8^th.
  • Belton and Phoebe Myers are 2^nd and 3^rd in the 100-meter hurdles.
  • Libby Harvey is ranked 6^th in the 3000 steeplechase.
  • Myers is currently sitting in 1^st in the high jump followed by Janiya Pinckney at 9^th.
  • In the triple jump, Whiteside and Nashayla Warren are 5^th and 8^th.
• The team will be competing in the 1500-meter run, 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 4x400 and 4x100-meter relays, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, high jump, 800-meter run, 5000-meter run, 400-meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump, javelin, and hammer throw.
• Athletes to watch on the women's side are Myers, Boyd, Robinson, Sosa, and Belton.

Men's Team Notes:

• Last weekend in the Hub City Invite, Jay Mitchell placed 1^st in the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters, however, he will not be competing in this upcoming meet. Other notables from last weekend's meet include the 4x100-meter relay team placing 3^rd at 42.60 seconds, Ryan Glenn placing 3^rd in the 400-meter dash at 51.26 seconds, Gerrard Donald placing 3^rd in the 100-meter dash at 11.33 seconds, and Johnathan Nunez placing 3^rd in the 5000-meter run at 17:09.13.
• The following athletes are ranked in the current Conference Carolinas standings:
  • Donald and Gavin McFadden are tied at 3^rd in the 100-meter dash. The two are also ranked 10^th and 11^th in the 200-meter dash.
  • DreQuan Guyton is currently sitting in 15^th in the 800-meter run.
  • Mitchell is 4^th in the high jump.

• The team will be competing in the 110 and 400-meter hurdles, 4x400-meter relay, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay, 800-meter run, 1500-meter run, 400-meter dash, pole vault, discus, and javelin.
• Athletes to watch on the men's side are Glenn, Donald, McFadden, and Guyton.
