SPARTANBURG, S.C. – To continue the 2022 cross country season, the Converse Valkyries will be racing in the NCAA D2 Southeast Regional on Saturday, November 19 at Wingate University.

Women's Notes:
- This will be just the third 6k race that the women have competed in all year.
- At last year's NCAA D2 Southeast Regionals, the women finished 17th overall.
- At the Conference Carolinas Championships, the women clinched second overall with an average time of 23:53, the highest finish in school history and a new program record time.
- Lauren Beatty finished 3rd with a time of 23:08.9, earning her the title of Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and spot on the All-Conference First Team. Ruth Spijker was also named to the First Team with a 6th place finish at a time of 23:43.3.
- Ashley Sosa (10th – 23:51.6) and Kamille Dixon (12th – 23:58.8) were both named to the Second Team All-Conference.
Men's Notes:
- This will be the first 10k race of the season for the men's team.
- In their first ever NCAA D2 Southeast Regional race in 2021, the Converse men finished 19th overall with Luis Rios Brena finishing first for the Valkyries at a time of 34:14.4.
- The men competed in the 8k race at the Conference Carolinas Championships with an 8th place finish and an average time of 27:55.
- Rios Brena was the top finisher for the Valkyries with a 13th place finish (26:16.0), securing his spot on the Second Team All-Conference.
- Jaxon Wright (28:08.4), DreQuan Guyton (28:14.8) and Ethan Lee (28:35.7) were the next three highest finishers for the men's team.
